The number of opportunities to hear live music in this city is really staggering. For some shmo's bday the other night we went out for some steak dinner and then meandered through the streets to this tiny jazz club. The club (really, a room) was small enough that the entertainers could (and did) easily...

When my sister and I were six, a turn table and a stack of records could entertain us for hours. Since our parents were trying to raise us TV free, naturally I thought of records as ear TV and the stereoscope that our great grand aunt kept out to entertain us got called the old-fashioned TV. Day 1 in Prague

Arrived in Prague today after a long train trip that included a fast train to Frankfurt and then a night train from there. The night train was ok except the guy I was with turned the heat off in the middle of the night. I was cold when I woke up. I had a bit of trouble finding the hostel where I wanted to stay, but once I found it it was great. It is called Sit Toby's and it is the nicest one ...
