Day Five Kostnice

We stopped off on day five at the centuries old church of Kostnice. In the 14th century a half blind and possibly mad based on his legacy decided to decorate the Church in human bones. Why is an excellant question but the overall effect is as impressive as it is creepy. Bones were piled in huge arcs arranged...  


Day Four Prague

After an 8am breakfast luxury we went to Prague. The area we were staying in Dejvika was fairly average so it came as a huge suprise when we stepped out of the subway only to be surrounded by these beautiful old buildings. They didn't abate as we went further into the city as Prague at least the centre of it...  


Days Two and Three Bruges to Prague

Day Two was very much a driving day we were held up on the roads and so we had to substitute our planned stop at Heidelburg Castle for one at Marksburg Castle. This was probably a good thing seeing as it cut out four hours of driving. Markburg was very interesting much bsmaller than the Scottish and English...  


New Wine Time in Prague

 It's new wine time in the Czech Republic and this weekend we'll be celebrating vinobraní, or the wine harvest, in our neighborhood. Over on náměstí Míru, an old-fashioned market is all set up today, selling freshly pressed wine and trinkets. Tomorrow, the festival moves to Grébovka, with more...
